A whole lot of time spent cleaning and cozying up our apartment. I love Branch Basics and L'avant all purpose spray. A little glimpse of the living room. En route to lunch with a friend. Went away to Esalen in Big Sur for my birthday and it was insane magic. A lot of moments in my comfort zone and outside of it, the perfect start to 25. Deane at the edge of the property. The grounds were extraordinary. The gardens, the hot springs, the views.. The sweetest lady in my seminar surprised me with this bouquet on my birthday. We sipped a glass of wine and headed to the airport for a truly treacherous red eye. We spent the day in Boston with my parents and picked up cheddar jalapeño scones from Greystone for my dad, his favorite. Then off to Nantucket! Eataly snacks in hand. We ate at Galley Beach the first night. On our last visit I fell in love with the view, but the food was equally tasty this time. Wore this mini dress by Sir the Label. Took a boat ride to Topper's! Hanging on the lounge chairs post lunch. The guys waiting for a friend to pop over and say hi. I love the bright colors all lined up. Then we made it to Cisco Beach for about an hour where a few bloody marys were had. I could walk the streets of New England forever and never tire of the charm. Just like this ;-) I spotted this sweet pearl necklace that will live on my neck this summer at Nantucket Pearl Company / G.S. Hill Gallery. We stayed at Nantucket Art House and spent a lot of the weekend in the pool. Tennessee sunset on the fourth. We had a barbecue with friends and family and this vibrant salad was my contribution - arugula, mixed greens, tomatoes, pine nuts, lemon and parmesan. Luna and Bentley exhausted by the heat. My sweet Mama all packed up. A few other favorite spots included Brant Point Grill and the BLT from Provisions! When there's no heat storms, the TN hills are pretty perfect. Fourth of July carnival! Golf cart rides. I forgot to pack red, so navy and white it was. Then we ended up on the East Coast with Deane's parents again. Madness is the name of the game but the flight is only two hours. The summer cottage life is for me. This was the only hour of Atlantic moodiness. The beaches were packed and the water felt warmer than ever. Deane on slack. Sort of. Lathered in Odacite sunscreen and Westman Atelier blush in petal. Drove up to Kittery Point in Maine for dinner. We went to Bistro 1828 and I highly recommend. With my new treasured Toteme clutch. Flipped through a few art books and was reminded of how much I love Andrew Wyeth.
