Hi all and happy August 17! Coming to you from the Nashville Delta lounge (I love it here and everyone is so friendly). We had a surprise dinner for my grandpa last night at Southall. I’ve been once before and find it magnificent. I was sure that he had a clue but honestly the look on his face was priceless so I think we all did a fairly good job at keeping quiet.

September is near (so wild) and I realize that I’ve neglected to post here a bit as I focus on my newsletter. When I studied art history I got very used to writing papers and getting into the routine of brainstorm, jot notes for a week or two, then write everything the day before a due date. I’m a professional procrastinator but I’m also an avid note taker, so when it comes time to do the dang thing I have more to work with than one may think. And that’s exactly what shows up for me when writing my newsletter. Sharing every two weeks feels perfectly aligned. I generally have something to share and have my eyes on a new goodie, song or adventure. I screenshot whenever I see something I like, make note whenever an idea comes up, and I’m forever in constant motion on Pinterest and Spotify. And so my newsletter creative process remains the same… all of that and come Sunday, I throw it all together and tie a ribbon on it.

This has to be my favorite time of all year. The end of August to early September is kinda dreamy. The change of seasons (especially summer to fall) feels like a time of renewal and a source of nesting, homemaking and caretaking inspiration. And as for what I’ve been into as of late… stripes, beautiful scripts, riding boots, floral wallpaper, sunrooms, old editorial ads and canopy beds. The style and design motto this year is clean maximalism. How can I pack everything I love into my space and my mind in a way that feels most fulfilling and at the same time streamlined and light? To live amidst everything you are drawn to and somehow keep it all a source of inspiration rather than mind clutter.

Anyways, that’s a brief insight into my life atm and much more to come!

x Evie
